Lead CT Technologist

Responsible for the operations of the CT department including daily functions, staffing, equipment and supply maintenance, reconciliation of patient records, and training and evaluation of staff. Ensures patient comfort and safety during procedures. Maintains a high quality of images produced.? Responsible for availability and sterility of equipment and supplies used for assigned areas.? Performs other related duties as assigned.


Coordinates the CT scanning examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.Ably assists in staff scheduling and performance evaluations.Completes annually defined position competencies, and helps to ?comp? others.Assists with scheduling and KRONOS timekeeping system.Is responsible for inventory and control of specific CT supply items such as biopsy needles, pressure injector syringes, interventional sets, etc. in work area; may purchase supplies for the area of responsibility. Uses supplies cost effectivelyWorks with the radiologist to set standards for CT to ensure quality in techniques, procedures and patient care. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examinations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of
the patient following the procedureKnowledge of reconstruction protocols (ie: 3D, angio, image fusion, etc.)Performs procedures according to departmental protocol as established by Radiologist(s); understands procedure preparation for general radiologyUtilizes shielding /collimation to minimize patient radiation exposure, complies with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles; monitors own radiation exposure?Assists the Radiology manager with departmental Quality Assurance.Demonstrates ability to properly administer oxygen as appropriateChecks BUN/Creatinine values per departmental protocolIs able to identify and respond to a contrast reaction; is familiar with drug box, location of crash carts and intubation equipment; is familiar with procedure for calling a ?codeInitiates applicable Risk Identification Reports and reports incomplete and incorrect examinations to ensure proper patient charges and continuity of patient careAssists with orientation of new employees and studentsHas knowledge of institutional conscious sedation policyPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as necessary

AHA BLS or equivalent

Experience/certification in CT. Five (5) years experience as a staff technologist?and one to two years of supervisory experience required.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
