Boiler Plant Operator

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintains repairs and operates the Boiler Plant and related equipment and systems. Operator must accomplish daily chemical analysis of boiler water . Responsible for the operation of four (4) sets of boiler controls Ensure a continuing production of steam, chilled water, and hot water. Determine adjustments or corrections necessary for proper boiler operations or changing load requirements. Performs minor electrical repairs within the boiler plant to include but not limited to wiring of pumps/ motors/ control valves, troubleshooting controls, and replacing breakers. Repairs, installs, modifies hot water generating equipment and circulating pumps, natural gas and fuel oil, and related tanks, fittings, valves, traps, mixing and pressure regulating apparatus. Work Schedule:
7 day, 3 shift operation schedule. Shifts will be in rotation, Monday through Friday, and on holidays and weekends. Position Description Title/PD#:

The incumbent must be in satisfactory physical and mental condition and fit for duty a all times, excluding body maintenance items. He/she will be required to frequently work in confined areas in and around boilers and support equipment (i.e. auxiliary and pollution control equipment). The work requires moderate to strenuous effort and long periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and crouching. Workers frequently lift and carry boiler parts and chemical supplies weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally items weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment. Working Condition:
Exposed to a full array of weather conditions. Subject to danger of falling when working from ladders or hydraulic lifts. Exposed to dust/dirt. Work is performed mostly in an operating boiler plant with some work outside. Work is often dirty, dusty and greasy. The incumbent is subjected to such hazardous conditions as injury from power driven tools, falling from scaffolds and ladders, temperature extremes, noise, and bad weather conditions. The incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibilities of cuts, bruises, scratches, broken bones, and burns. They are subject to asbestos exposure and chemicals which can cause burns or irritation to the skin. Some duties may require incumbent to wear protective equipment and clothing that is heavy and uncomfortable. Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
