Industrial Equip Mechanic

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Install, repair, overhaul and maintain variety of kitchen, medical, laundry, grounds maintenance, materials handling, and other miscellaneous mobile equipment. Performs preventative maintenance services, including conducting periodic preventative and recurring inspections. Installs, repairs and maintains food carts, laundry carts, metal furniture, pumps and air compressors throughout the Medical Center. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures and determines the extent of repairs and parts needed, estimates materials required, selects best work methods, techniques and trade practices and accomplishes the repair or overhaul. Responsible for selecting and safely using proper tools, devices, manuals, references and efficient procedures. Independently diagnoses, plans and completes projects or work orders involving routine repairs. capable of using lathes, air and hydraulically operated presses, facing machines, radial drill presses and grinders. Uses sheet metal tools, welding and brazing equipment and any other special tools required for removing old and worn parts, or replacing, realigning or fitting new parts to various types of equipment. Examines and troubleshoots in order to determine the extent of required complex repairs and materials or parts needed; and to estimate the time required to complete repairs. Performs other duties related to this trade, as necessary. Work Schedule:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Physical Requirements:
Frequently handles objects weighing up to 45 pounds and occasionally must carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds over moderate distances. Equipment mechanics are required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, work in cramped positions over and under all types of machinery and where the parts worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Work is sometimes performed from ladders and often work must be performed in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Working Conditions:
Dust, dirt, grease, dampness and extremely hot pipes are frequently encountered. Work is usually performed inside in a well lighted but hot and humid environment. Frequent exposure to moving parts and sharp edges is part of the working conditions and noise and vibration from machinery sometimes is present. Protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety shoes and goggles are provided. Occasionally work must be performed outside in all kinds of weather conditions but not for extended periods.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
