Health Technician (Lead)

Lead 8-10 Health Aids and volunteers to effectively screen Veterans, staff and visitors that present to the medical facility. Creates schedule for staff and volunteers to ensure safe screening coverage. Conducts orientation of staff and volunteers to the processes of screening. Updates staff and volunteers on any changes to the screening process including screening questions and body temperature screens. Provides coverage in the screening area when needed. Notifies area supervisor to any issues that concern the screening area. To include making emergency calls on behalf of visitors that present to the screening area with a medical concern. Ensures accurate area signage is posted, order supplies for screening area and ensures the screening area is clutter free and safe for daily use. Answers telephone calls from individuals and routes calls to the appropriate office or employee. Responsible for ensuring the screening area, Health Aids and volunteers have appropriate equipment and tools to carry out their tasks. Work Schedule:

00am to 3:

Health Technician (Lead)/ 01487-T Physical Requirements:
This position will require standing to screen staff, Veterans and visitors for 2-3 hours in a row with some sitting, stooping, reaching, pulling, bending and walking on a daily basis. The employee will need to walk in the rain, snow and inclement weather from car/ building to work locations. Work locations will include an outside climate controlled booth during all seasons of the year. Promotion Potential:

Six months of general experience and Six months of Specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. OR Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-04 level:
Successful completion of 2 year of study that included study in medical, health, or related fields. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-04 level:
Must possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Transcripts and/or Student Record Required.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
